Chance The Rapper has a rabid set of fans, and his music inspires many of his followers to live their best lives when they hear it start to play. Apparently a few of those fans need to learn to keep themselves in check a little better, because dozens of people were reportedly hospitalized following a concert of Chance's in Hartford on Friday.

According to various media reports, Hot 93.7's Hot Jam at Xfinity Theatre led to the hospitalization of more than 90 people over the weekend, with a lot of those coming as a result of excessive drinking.

Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley said officers on the scene made 50 underage drinking referrals on at the concert on Friday, with most of the people charged also being issued a court summons. As if to set the scene for what was to come, Foley shared a video from his personal Twitter account Friday evening, warning parents of how crowded (and rambunctious) the lot was leading up to the concert.

Did you drop your teen off at the concert tonight. This is what it looks like. & HPD is enforcing underage drinking in the lots. pic.twitter.com/qtsVKOGJTH

Though Chance wasn't the only artist appearing at Hot Jam on Friday evening—other artists featured on the bill were Kyle (no relation), PnB Rock, and ANoyd—he was the clear headliner and draw for the show. Several concertgoers referenced the calamity of the scene in posts on social media, though most were happy to point out Chance was not responsible for how big of a mess it was.

I'll see all you people that get to drunk at the chance concert tonight at Hartford hospital 🤙🏽
Sounds like more of a personal issue and nothing to do with Chance.
🤔& wtf he got to do w/their stupidity? He's a social conscience performer #No problems @ChancelorTweets

Having had a few tailgate drinks in my lifetime, all I will say is you really should know your limits before committing to pounding booze in the heat before a concert. It's real exciting to get to see one of your favorite artists, not so much to end up in a hospital bed because you had a couple Natty Ices and a shot of vodka too many.
