Nicki Minaj announced Friday that she will be launching an official charity related to her student loans and tuition payments initiative "very soon." As we reported last weekend, Minaj's #RegretInYourTears Twitter challenge took an inspiring turn when Minaj responded to fans' requests for tuition assistance in lieu of the meet-and-greet prize:

On Friday, Minaj shared a screenshot on Instagram showing that payments were already in progress. "This makes me so happy," Minaj said. "I'll do another impromptu payment spree in a month or 2 but pls know that I'm launching my official charity for Student Loans/Tuition Payments VERY SOON! You'll be able to officially sign up! I'll keep you posted!" Additional details on the charity have not been announced.

Minaj has also been retweeting fans' thanks for first round of payments, including one Thursday from an Ohio University student:

Minaj's previous philanthropic efforts have included recording wake up calls for students as part of the Get Schooled Foundation, a non-profit focused on improving graduation rates, and the auctioning of a one-of-a-kind Nicki Minaj Barbie doll. The doll, created in partnership with Mattel, was auctioned off on CharityBuzz.com to raise money for Project Angel Food. Based in Los Angeles, Project Angel Food seeks to "feed and nourish" those battling critical illnesses.
