On Tuesday, legendary Queens emcee Prodigy passed away at the age of 42. And while everyone from Nas to ASAP Rocky commented on his passing, one person many were waiting to hear from was the other half of Mobb Deep, Havoc. On Thursday morning, TMZ shared a video of Havoc opening up about hearing the news, which he initially thought was just a "weird rumor."

"I was really laughing, to be honest with you," Havoc told TMZ.

Havoc said he'd been keeping up with Prodigy's recent health issues, and after getting the call that he initially took to be a "rumor," he was laughing, as he knew P's status on the daily. While speaking to P's road manager, though, Havoc said he had to hang up the phone after hearing the manager crying on the phone. Havoc said he was driving with his son, who had just graduated kindergarten, on their way to go eat and he admitted he "could've crashed with my kids in the car."

Havoc, who met Prodigy when he was 15 and is now 43, said he can't even listen to Mobb Deep music right now. "I'm still fucked up," he said. "I can't listen."

Prior to releasing this statement to TMZ, Havoc shared a number of photos remembering Prodigy on Instagram.
