Drake Officially Adds Baka to OVO Sound Roster

Longtime OVO crew member Baka signed his contract during a show in New York.

If you aren't an OVO stan, you might find yourself reading that headline and saying "Baka who?!" But you have more than likely heard Drake's homey, or at the very least his name, over the years. He was not only featured throughout Drake's More Life from earlier this year, but was getting shout-outs on Drake gems like "Know Yourself." You even saw him during the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, performing live with Drake in the middle of a fucking fountain.

Anyways, a few weeks after OVO Sound added Plaza to the label, Drake personally announced that Baka was the latest member of the OVO Sound roster during a performance in New York. He had the contract and a pen for Baka to sign on the spot and everything.

The timing makes sense, considering Baka is coming off of "Live Up to My Name."

While Baka is making moves on the music tip, he does have a checkered past. Back in May of 2015, he was arrested for assaulting a woman after an argument over some burning french fries on a stove. He'd only been out of jail for a month after serving time for human trafficking charges. It looks like Baka's kept himself out of the public eye and is ready to be an artist; don't be surprised if he touches down at OVO Fest in August.
