I remember staring at my phone stunned by the notification I was reading one year ago today. Prince had died at the age of 57. It seemed like a terrible internet hoax. Prince was too young to die. Prince was supposed to live on forever. 

Actually, Prince Rogers Nelson does live on forever, and on the one-year anniversary of his death, people are remembering everything that made him a once-in-a-lifetime artist. The hashtag #RIPPrince has been trending all day on Friday with many fans sharing their memories of the legendary artist. Check out some of the social media tributes from fans below:

In related news, it was just announced that Prince sold more albums in 2016 than any other artist. According to Billboard, more than 2.2 million Prince albums were sold last year. The sales are certainly a testament to his lasting legacy.
