Today, rising club producer Timbah is announcing a brand new EP of club heaters for Sheffield-based label Bad Taste. The 3-track release, Slimey Makoto, is a bit of a departure from the grimey sounds he usually puts out, but there's still a hint of those influences in there.

At times, "OvahxxMii" runs parallel to grime — taking influence from anime, and video game music. There's also more of an emphasis on melody, though the track still retains a dark and weighty backbone.

"I jumped ship from grime and this is where I'm at," he explained. "Quite a lot of the tunes I was making before were made up of stabs, bangs, pokes — whatever you want to call them, those kind of sounds — which were fun to play out, but didn't have too much more to them beyond that. For these new tracks, I wanted to get back to making tunes that were driven by melodies and chords, so that's what you hear."

The Slimey Makoto EP drops May 19 via Bad Taste Records.
