It’s been a whole week since Kodak Black was sentenced to one year in jail for violating his house arrest. Fans have been wondering how he’s been doing. In an e-mail statement released Friday by his newly appointed lawyer, it sounds like Kodak is on the right track to get out earlier than expected.
Brett Clarkson of The Sun Sentinel reached out to Bradford Cohen, who is Kodak’s lawyer after letting go of his two other lawyers, Gary Kollin and Allan Stephen Zamren. According to Cohen, Kodak is enrolled in a life skills course and aims to complete it in the next 30 days.
Kodak, whose real name is Dieuson Octave, is currently at the Joseph V. Conte Facility where he is serving time. But if he completes the life skills course, he’ll be out in about a month. The time he has already spent behind jail since February will count towards his reduced sentencing, which would be 180 days instead of 364 days.
Earlier this year, Kodak released his major label debut, Painting Pictures, that was released on March 31, and featured singles “Tunnel Vision” and “There He Go.” He was set to be on Future’s Nobody’s Safe tour with Migos and Tory Lanez, but got replaced by ASAP Ferg due to his legal troubles.
