Pusha T Talks About His Upcoming Album on Pharrell and Scott Vener's OTHERtone

Pusha T reveals he was in the studio with Desiigner and Pharrell putting the finishing touches on ‘King Push.’

It has been over a year since Pusha T dropped his last album, King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, but it looks like he's ready to "get back in the ring." During his appearance on Pharrell and Scott Vener's OTHERtone on Beats 1 Radio with fellow Virginia natives D.R.A.M. and Fam-Lay, Pusha provided some details on his upcoming album, King Push. "I'm working on my album right now, it's entitled King Push. I just left Pharrell yesterday, so I'm just waiting on him to give me these last couple heatrocks," he said, as a stone-faced Pharrell sat next to him.

While he didn't offer up many details, Pusha revealed that he and Desiigner listened to the album when the two recently linked up in the studio. "The album is crazy. It's definitely crazy," Pharrell interjected. When asked about the sound of the album, Pharrell referred to it as "something gargoyle-ish." We'll let your mind wander with that one.

After spending last year campaigning alongside the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Pusha felt like he was ready to get back into music-making mode and everything that entails. "I spent all of 2016 trying to free my people, and we took the L on that with the Hillary campaign, it's cool," he admits. "But it's rap time, and that's what it is. No haircut. No face cut. No nothing. It's just what we're doing."
