SXSW was a movie. A grime movie.
While absorbing the openness of the crowds from venue to venue—courtesy of Relentless, we caught up with Kiss FM’s Rude Kid as he filmed a behind-the-scenes documentary on how the London-born genre of grime is more than ready to be received on an international scale. “I really want people who don’t necessarily listen to the music, to hear it and get their real reaction of how it hits them,” he said. “For me, that’s the real experiment. For me and Ghetts, [our new track] ‘Banger After Banger’ is popping on UK radio, and the beauty of being here is that there’s people that might not know the sound—let alone us—so it's special to witness ordinary people coming along and paying attention.”
