Wiley's Camden Show Last Night Was A Celebration Of Grime

Skepta's appearance was just one of dozens of highlights.

Last night, the godfather of grime stormed Camden's Roundhouse with the cream of the grime scene in tow. With DJ Maximum handling decks, we got appearances from Breeze, Ghetts, Scratchy, Flowdan, Jamakabi, Manga, Jme, Skepta, President T, Devlin, Chip, P Money, Newham Generals, Stormzy, Solo45 and more. The classic "Gangsters" was one of the few non-Godfather tunes to make an appearance, and yet, judging by the crowd's reaction, you'd just borne witness to a greatest hits set.

The night was most definitely a celebratory one. As Wiley saluted his peers and protégés, they returned in kind, reminding the audience throughout how much Eskiboy meant to them and to UK music. More than a few people in the room were left with lumps in their throats. Triumphant, wild, and somewhat emotional—last night was the perfect celebration of the Godfather.
