Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott is back with fresh material.

That’s right. On Thursday night, the legendary rapper surprised fans with her new single "I'm Better" featuring Lamb.

The 45-year-old artist has kept a relatively low profile for most of the decade, despite rumors of a major comeback following her 2015 Super Bowl performance with Katy Perry. Since then, Missy has landed a few feature credits and has delivered non-album singles such as “Pep Rally” and “WTF (Where They From)” with Pharrell; however, fans are still patiently awaiting the follow-up to her 2005 album The Cookout.

Her other musical contributions in 2016 included working with Fall Out Boy on “Ghostbusters (I'm Not Afraid)” which was featured on the Ghostbusters soundtrack. She also contributed on the star-studded single “This Is for My Girls” in collaboration with Michelle Obama. The song, which also featured Janelle Monáe, Kelly Rowland, and Zendaya, among others, was released for charity.

In a 2015 interview with Billboard, the hip-hop matriarch opened up about her next project, confirming both Pharrell and Timbaland were handling the production.
