Migos and Donald Glover's Connection Goes Way Beyond the Golden Globes

The Migos and Donald Glover connection goes way past the Golden Globes and we need way more of it in 2017.

Migos and Donald Glover forever. That's what the people want in 2017, and for good reason. They're incredible. On Sunday night, Glover not only shouted out Migos' "Bad and Boujee" as the best song ever, but later doubled down on the notion and called the trio "the Beatles of this generation." Of course, back in 2014, the Migos and Beatles statements set Twitter ablaze on a daily basis and were very serious debates. Well, not really, but you get the idea.

Migos and Glover are both rolling with strong momentum at the moment, which makes a further connection between them even more needed. Glover, who has found insane success with his acting, released his very popular Awaken, My Love album back in December. Migos on the other hand are set to drop their new Culture album on Jan. 27, and it seems like a strong chance that "Bad and Boujee" hits No. 1 on the charts before that.

The Donald Glover and Migos connection actually goes all the way back to 2015 when Glover revealed on his Facebook page that he was attempting to get into contact with the group to work on music. That collaboration hasn't come to be yet, but the trio did appear on Glover's Golden Globe-winning show Atlanta during the first season. Back in September, Quavo spoke with Complex about appearing on the show, and broke down how it came together.

His people reached out to our people, but I always had a good relationship with him on some artist to artist shit. I always respected him and his craft so I instantly wanted to be a part of it. I didn’t even know it was going to be this big, I just thought he was shooting a short film or something like that, and luckily it did good, know what I’m saying? I would give him a yes just off of our relationship period, though.

Luckily, it appears that that connection is about to grow even more in 2017. Following Sunday's Golden Globes, TMZ caught up with Glover and his brother after the show and directly asked if a new collaboration was on the way. While Glover played it coy, his brother let the news slip that new music is indeed on the way. When we'll get the new music remains to be seen, but it's clear that much more is on the way from Migos and Donald Glover in 2017. For that, we can all be thankful.
