After the Electoral College shit the bed on Tuesday and then asked everyone to just leave the shit in there for the next four years, the nation erupted in protest. Following initial protests in New York City and Chicago, the unity spread to Portland, Los Angeles, and even all the way to Melbourne, Australia. TIP, formerly known as T.I., was recording in NYC when he decided to join the call to action. While speaking with Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday, TIP explained why protest is so crucial at this moment in America.

"There wasn't as much fanfare as you may expect in a large group," TIP said of the Trump Tower protest of 12,000 he joined after leaving a nearby studio. "It was more so, 'Hey, that's…thank you for being out here with us, it's great to see you here.'" When Kimmel asked TIP to break down why he feels protest is the right move for other Americans, his answer was clear: We must send a message.

"Nobody in their right mind can ever assume that, you know, just gathering and going somewhere and showing your incredible disdain for a decision that the nation has made, that that will actually do anything immediately," he said. "However, when I look at my kids after this thing takes place, I voted and I've done everything that I could prior to now. But after the decision of the election had happened, I just want to be able to look my kids in the eyes and make sure that they know that I did everything that the constitution allows me to do to show my objection to this decision."

For a growing list of protests being organized across the country, peep here before hitting the streets.
