A new addition to the fast-growing scene for London's budding, progressive young artists, Louis VI has collaborated with many up-and-coming musicians, including UK contemporaries such as Loyle Carner, Moses Boyd, Denai Moore, OthaSoul and Tom Misch. This week, the word- and beatsmith from North West London debuted his first solo EP, Lonely Road Of The Dreamer, and has picked up support from Gilles Peterson (who gave it the first spin), Mary Anne Hobbs and Jamz Supernova.

Lonely Road Of The Dreamer touches on a vulnerability rarely shown in hip-hop until recently, with the likes of Isaiah Rashad and Kid Cudi speaking candidly about their real-life experiences. The 8-track offering navigates through issues on Louis' battle with depression, unemployment, lack of money and climate change, all centered around the struggle of trying to rise as a musician in London, as hard as that may be.

Two standout tracks from the project are "Feelin' Something" and "Question Mark", which has the only feature on the tape, with lofty vocals from Denai Moore. Told through the metaphor of road travel, the whole EP is full of double meaning, which is taken to the next level with the backing of the beautifully crafted instrumentals and sophisticated rhythmic play. Check out the set below and keep your eyes peeled for more from the promising producer and rapper.
