Lil Yachty isn’t backing down.
In the latest installment of Pitchfork.tv’s Over/Under series, the 19-year-old rapper sat down with The Good Perry to share their thoughts on a wide range of random topics, including Tom Hanks, 50 Shades of Grey, and even well as fake IDs. Just one look at that list and it's clear the conversation was kept relatively light; however, when it came to the subject of The Notorious B.I.G., Lil Boat gave an answer that didn't sit well with many old-school hip-hop fans: He boldly declared the legendary MC "overrated."
Many people on social media criticized the response as ignorant and disrespectful, but it's clear Lil Yachty isn't really bothered by their reactions.
In a series of tweets, the Atlanta rapper defended his position and insisted his critics were upset about nothing.

Yachty has been called out for dismissing old-school rap. In an interview with Billboard earlier this year, the rapper caught heat after admitting he wasn't too familiar with Biggie or 2Pac's work.
"[I] honestly couldn't name five songs [by 2pac and Biggie]," he said. "But if I'm doing this my way and making all this money, why should I do it how everybody says it's supposed to be done?"
