Aston Matthews may have the most distinct voice in the game right now. He sounds like the menace he portrays himself to be in his music. But don't think he's here to glorify gang banging.

Like many of the best MCs throughout the years, he sees both sides of the game. "The gang-banging culture we come from is generally a family structure that many lack in their lives but it can at many times also be a dark journey filled with many evils including drugs, violence, misogyny and corruption of the youth," Matthews told Complex via email. "I myself have lived this life so I don't disavow what it is and what it means, but I also know that it has its realities that not everyone is prepared for, or should be a part of. This is just a glimpse of the hell we live in."

In the video for "Coldest Night in Hell," he plays the OG to a tender, young mind and shows how peer pressure and pride make us do terrible things. Velous does a great job flipping Ghostface Killah's "Mighty Healthy" and Darryl "Filth" Phillips and James Mackel do him one better by bringing the track to life through the camera lens. Check out the video for "Coldest Night in Hell" above and keep up with Aston Matthews' latest moves on Twitter. His Chapovelli EP is due out the first quarter of 2017.
