The Internet appear on the cover of the latest issue of Fader, and the group had some major announcements to make about upcoming projects. They first revealed that they will be releasing their fourth album sometime in the spring of 2017, which will serve as the follow-up to their 2015 project Ego DeathThe group just began the writing process for the project this month.

On top of that, several members of the group will be releasing solo projects. Syd's project is called Dive. “This album is not that deep, but I feel like this is my descent into the depth I want the band to get to,” she said. According to her, the project will veer more towards a traditional pop sound. "I grew up on Radio Disney and N' Sync and Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys so I've always loved pop music. The soul shit we do is dope, but my solo shit is giving me the option to explore a poppier, more popular sound," she said. Syd has already written 14 songs for Dive.

Group member Matt will also be releasing a solo project, although it doesn't yet have a name. “My shit is very weird and wonky but it's very core-heavy and melodic. Syd's is more bouncy, very upbeat," he said. "They don't sound like Internet songs, [but] they sound like people that are in The Internet."

Several of the other members plan to work on solo music as well, although they don't have concrete plans about what the projects will sound like or when they'll surface.

2017 might still be a few months away, but fans are sure to start getting excited about the news already. You can check out the group's Fader cover story here.
