DMX stopped by the Yonkers PD vs. Fire Dept. Toughman Competition Friday night, praising the officers there as "true heroes" who saved his life after finding him unconscious in a parking lot in February.

"There's a few officers here tonight that, on February 8th, saved my life," DMX told the crowd, as captured by TMZ. "To go from at one point running from to get away from shit to to having police save my life. True heroes. I'm not speaking from what somebody else told me or someone else's opinion. This is my personal experience."

He continued, "The officers that I used to work for that I was fucking up turned out to be the ones that saved my life. There are firefighters in here as well."

Back in February, DMX was found unconscious and not breathing with no pulse outside of his Yonkers hotel by Police who quickly revived the legendary rapper by giving him Narcan before he was taken to a hospital.

X came through the whole incident okay and fully recovered and has been keeping busy ever since. Most recently, Khaled reunited X with Jay Z and Ja Rule, who were once a short-lived supergroup called Murder Inc. that posed for the ninth issue of XXL back in 1999 to signify their arrival on the rap scene, backstage at the final show of Beyonce's Formation world tour in East Rutherford, N.J.

For his part, DMX hasn't forgotten that fateful night and gave back to those who saved him by helping the event raise $80,000 and performing the "Ruff Ryders' Anthem" for all in attendance. Watch DMX give his heartfelt speech above.
