Justin Vernon has been a pretty busy guy lately. A little less than a month ago, the Bon Iver front man was headlining his annual Eaux Claires music festival in the back woods of Wisconsin. Then on Friday, after months of heavy anticipation, Bon Iver finally unveiled their newest album 22, A Million to a wave of critical adoration and fan enthusiasm. You'd think he'd maybe wanna kick his feet up a little bit, but no. Instead, he took off to Berlin to bust out a techno-heavy DJ set for his European fans.

Similar in organization to Eaux Claires—if not wildly different in scope and execution—Michelberger Music is a two day music and arts showcase that Vernon helped organize with the National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner at the Michelberger Hotel in Berlin. It's a festival-like enviornment designed to highlight collaborations. A number of different artists with eclectic backgrounds fly in from around the world to the Funkhaus studio spaces to jam and create.

It was in that spirit that Vernon took the stage alongside some of the members of Teenage Engineering, the same folks responsible for creating the OP-1 Portable Synthesizer, which the singer heavily utilized on his most recent album 22, A Million and put on an exhilarating, drum-machine heavy, house show.

At one point, the U.K.-based rapper Trim even appeared to throw out a few bars an get the amped crowd to turn up even higher.

It was a one-of-a-kind event, and yet another indicator for how far Vernon has come from his singular acoustic guitar sound that made him a star on the first Bon Iver record For Emma, Forever Ago in 2007.
