Next month (Nov. 25), XL Recordings will be dropping the first in a brand new series of compilations under the title New Gen. As the title suggests, it has been orchestrated by XL A&R, GRM Daily creative director and Radar Radio host Caroline Simionescu-Marin. Over the years, and across a number of platforms and media, Caroline has been pushing hand-picked artists embarking on the early stages of their career. The New Gen album looks set to consist entirely of artists either about to blow in a matter of seconds or those currently on that trajectory.

Within the 17 tracks, you can expect to hear from AJ Tracey, Ray BLK, WSTRN, Kojey Radical and more. The first cut to be heard from the album is "Ring The Alarm" that sees New Gen mainstays Avelino and Tiggs Da Author link up over a relaxed, bouncy beat, with a powerful video to boot. "We went into the album with the same principles as we did with everything else," Caroline explained. "How do we give people that 'What the fuck' factor? Like, how did they make a musical, original, cohesive body of work with 17 completely different artists? That's really the point of New Gen, we have to push the boundaries."
