This Saturday (Oct. 1), Urban Development will be hosting their Industry Takeover All-Dayer, featuring seminars, live showcases, workshops and one-on-one advice for aspiring artists to get into the music industry.

Complex will be powering the key discussion of the day: Grime 2.0. Curated by grime scene documenter Laura 'Hyperfrank' Brosnan, this seminar will discuss the past barriers, current momentum and future triumphs that the grime scene has and will face. Is the only way forward to build on independent foundations? Is there a place for corporations to work with artists without exploiting the raw energy?

The key speakers selected for this vital discussion hold a catalogue of knowledge and experience that includes our very own Joseph 'JP' Patterson. He will deliver his expert opinion alongside DVD veteran turned video director Risky Roadz, Eskimo Dance co-owner Cheeky and West London MC Big Zuu. We're also excited to announce the "grime scene saviour" Chip to the panel, as well as the man behind Tempa T's "Next Hype" and The Square's "Lewisham McDs"—Pete Todd, Label Manager of No Hats No Hoods.

Besides the discussions and practical advice for young people to get into the industry, there'll be an emphasis on breaking down barriers for women and people of colour. Founder of Girls I Rate and accomplished songwriter Carla Marie Williams will be hosting a panel featuring Vicky Bain, CEO of the British Academy for Songwriters and Composers, rapper Paigey Cakey, Method Records A&R Jamila Scott, 1Xtra's Melody Kane and event promoter Leila 'Lilz' Singh.

All £5 and £10 tickets are sold out. However, Complex UK have an exclusive code for our readers. Click this link for discount on full price tickets for Saturday's Industry Takeover. Head here for tickets and info (Code: COMPLEX).
