Mumdance And AJ Tracey Push The Boundaries Of Experimental Grime With This Improvised Performance

Modular business!

It's no secret Mumdance has been plugging away for the past few years with sounds that marry together various shades of experimental electronica with grime's primal power. Recently, he hooked up with "Naila" MC AJ Tracey and Tate-approved visual artist Henry Driver for a one-off live improvised performance that saw Mumdance controlling a modular synthesiser, a piece of kit that was integral to the birth of electronic music's very first iterations. Despite the experimental nature of the kit, the track that emerges is a fully fledged banger.

Both artists will be performing at the Red Bull Red Bull Music Academy UK Tour, with Mumdance hosting a modular synth workshop on Sunday Oct. 16 in Glasgow and AJ Tracey performing in Liverpool on Sunday Oct. 9, alongside many other notable grime names such as D Double E, Footsie, Jammz and Lady Leshurr.
