Colin Kaepernick’s decision to sit during the National Anthem has been met with both criticism and praise. While some individuals have publicly blasted the quarterback’s protest, people like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Barack Obama have expressed their support. Other athletes, most recently USWNT midfielder Megan Rapinoe, are following his lead. And now we’re seeing more and more hip-hop figures coming out to back Kaepernick’s activism and his stance for the Black Lives Matter movement.

As pointed out by SOHH, J. Cole took the stage this weekend donning Kaepernick’s No. 7 jersey during a performance of “A Tale of 2 Citiez.”

Trey Songz was also spotted rocking a Kaepernick jersey during a Las Vegas concert on Sunday.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color," Kaepernick said during an interview with NFL Media. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Kaepernick's decision has further highlighted the ongoing issue of police brutality against minorities. In addition to celebrities and athletes, NFL fans have also shown their support by purchasing his jersey in huge numbers.
