Wale’s Summer on Sunsetis based around a concept that a Washington D.C. native has moved to Los Angeles, experiencing a whole new world unfamiliar to him. The mixtape yielded some interesting collaborations with West Coast mainstays such as Ty Dolla $ign, Joe Moses, and Eric Bellinger. But Tha Dogg Pound takes the cake.

The MMG rapper revisits the tape to release a visual for “Gangsta Boogie.” Directed by Louie Knows, the clip finds Wale, Daz Dillinger, and Kurupt showing us portions of LA. Wale and Daz are surrounded by some homies who get down with their C-Walks, a dance step that has made it into the pop culture lexicon in recent years thanks to Snoop Dogg and, more recently, Serena Williams.

Tha Dogg Pound reunited this year for “Ulimate Hustlaz” and “Violation,” which are two songs that hint a potential album is on the way. According to the YouTube description on “Gangsta Boogie,” the DJ-Chose-produced song is the title track off DPG’s Gangsta Boogie ,slated for a September release.

As for Wale, he continues to give fans more music with freestyles. But it’s all in preparation for his next album S.H.I.N.E.,  as well as his work on Self-Made Vol. 4. Look out for more info on those projects before the year is up.
