Getting an outside opinion on whatever it is that you're working on is never really a bad idea. Maybe someone with a fresh set of eyes and ears might notice or pick up on something that you may have missed out because you were too close to the project? That's apparently the tactic Big Sean is taking when it comes to his next album. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper has been hard at work these last few months trying to get his latest effort put together, and he seems just on the cusp of finishing it.

With that in mind, he recently decided to consult with two of the biggest names in rap history, Jay Z and Rick Rubin, to get their take on the new material.

Sean has never been one to be shy about expressing his admiration for the legends of the game. In July, the Detroit native spoke to Vogue about how his very style was inspired by the forefathers of rap. "I really liked Nas," he said. "I thought his style was really good. Definitely Tupac and Biggie. To this day, I still rock a Rolex ring, obviously I got that from Tupac and Biggie. Also Jay Z, Kanye, and Pharrell too. Growing up, all these guys had an impact on me. I see a version of them in myself today."
