Singer, songwriter and producer Raphaella has just delivered what should by rights be a massive summer hit. "Alien" is the track in question and combines infectious, club-ready and warm beats with sultry, seductive vocals. We say "seductive", but really they're more defiant—You call me an alien... I like the name, she chides. Citing her time with the Black Butter Records crew as a significant influence on her sound (you can hear it in the urgent build towards the apex and the restrained thump of the track's refrain), Raphaella is still very much her own artist, crafting charming and sophisticated pop bangers for the ages and writing for such acts as Gorgon City and Rudimental. Check her out for yourselves below.
