Danny Brown chopped it up with the Sway in the Morning crew Wednesday and revealed some exciting info about his new album Atrocity Exhibition. "I've been working on it for like three years," he said. "I recorded most of it in London."

He talked about how important bouncing ideas off his rapper friends was for his creative process. "I'd be around A$AP Rocky or ScHoolboy Q," he said. "With ScHoolboy, we bounced off each other for each other's albums. Like I heard his album from beginning to end... I'd go to his house and we'd just play songs back and forth so it kinda helped us out."  Danny also noted how much mutual artistic respect they have for each other. "When you got respect for the other artist... I wanna know what the other person is doing because it inspires you," he said.

In terms of the final project, Danny said "I feel like this is my career album. I built up everything I did for this album. This is the full-fledged Danny Brown doing Danny Brown... Now I know what the Danny Brown sound is, so this album is that." When asked about the long delay in writing it, he responded that he was busy living. "You gotta live life to be able to write about it. Until then I had wrote up to this point, so I had to live a little so I could write a little."

Elsewhere in the interview, he discussed growing up on both the east and west sides of Detroit, saying it was the best of both worlds because he "was able to be fresh and still protect myself with my freshness." You can check out the whole interview in the video above.
