When life gives you lemons, get Grace Jones to headline your festival instead.

As we're all abundantly aware, AFROPUNK festival in London has been plagued by controversy recently, surrounding original headline act M.I.A. and a serious of problematic statements made around the #BlackLivesMatter movement. The whole issue has already been analyzed and dissected in every possible way elsewhere, so we're not going to get into it all again. However, today we have the incredible news (news that will hopefully eclipse the controversy) that legend, hero, icon, deity Grace Jones will be replacing M.I.A. as the headline act of the festival.

Frankly, anyone in their right mind would happily sell a kidney just to see Ms. Jones alone. Still, that's an extreme you don't have to go to because they will accept cash—and you get to see the likes of TDE songstress SZA, Loyle Carner, Lady Leshurr, Soulection and a collaborative union of Akala, Dreadzone and Don Letts as WORD SOUND POWER among many others. Take a look at the flyer below for the rest of the artists performing at the festival.

AFROPUNK London takes place on Sept 24 at Alexandra Palace. Head here for tickets.
