Lil Mama delivers some #bars on her new freestyle over Drakeās ā4PM in Calabasas,ā but thereās one line in particular thatās got Twitter talking.
The Brooklyn rapper sent, at least according to Twitter, a subliminal shot at Nicki Minaj, rapping, āAnd you aināt got no sons / I be hearing you talkinā crazy, but you really is buns / So when you talk, talk politely / And when you tread, tread lightly cause the ice getting thinner / like 666, itās gonna be a cold winter.ā
Although she hasnāt formerly addressed the lyric, Twitter is already assuming her and Nicki are about to go track for track:
Lil Mama and Nicki Minaj arenāt exactly on great terms. On several occasions, Lil Mama has name-checked the Young Money rapper in interviews and other songs. In a June 2013 interview, she spoke about how Minaj wasnāt embracing her fellow MCs and not supporting unity within women.
"It's a lot of underground women who are trying to break through, but on a mainstream level the one person that I really hear on the radio is Nicki Minaj," sheĀ said. "A lot of times, I hear her say 'I do this for women,' and 'I'm doing this for all of us,' while she's accepting a BET Award, but other than that I don't see her embracing any other women. I feel it's time for female MCs to really start sticking together and start putting out some music."
Lil Mama also caught the wrath of the Barbz when she released āToo Fly,ā which apparently had her throwing shade at Nicki again.
āIf I was born in Trini and moved to the States, with the rage I make I would have got deported,ā she spits. āI should punch you in your face for making me grandma / With all these sons and uncle grandpas / And the stunts you be pulling like you bloody, bloody mad / āTil I smack you in the face while Iām writing these anthems.ā
Who knows where the bad blood between them originated, but Nickiās been known to go at her too. On the remix to Yo Gottiās ā5 Star Chick,ā she rapped, āFive, little Mama, you a three-star / I ain't sleepin' when I say I'm in my dream car.ā
Listen to ā4PMā below and let's pray for a clap back from Minaj.
