Danny Brown is Back With His New Video for "When It Rain"

Danny Brown is back and it's about damn time.

It's been almost three years since Danny Brown released his critically-acclaimed album Old, and since that time he's been relatively silent. All that changed today with the release of his new song "When It Rain," along with an accompanying music video. The song isn't a big deviation from Danny's traditional style, featuring his trademark helium-voiced raps over a grimy beat.

One interesting note comes in the YouTube description, which says that "When It Rain" is being released through London-based record label Warp. Danny's last two albums XXX and Old were released through the Brooklyn indie label Fool's Gold. His relationship with Fool's Gold at this time remains unclear, but Warp did send out a tweet saying that Danny Brown was joining the label's roster. Warp is home to artists such as Hudson Mohawke and Flying Lotus.

A few days ago, Danny hinted that his next album was finally close to done with a post on Instagram. "Putting the final touches on my next masterpiece," he wrote. It looks like he's a man of his word, as he quickly followed it up with this new release.
