Wale shared his new single "My P.Y.T." tonight, our first taste of his upcoming album S.H.I.N.E. The song has a positive, funky vibe, and finds Wale lusting after his "Pretty Young Thing." The track features Sam Sneak.

According to a recent tweet from Wale, his upcoming fifth album S.H.I.N.E.—or Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy—is due out some time this summer.

“Sonically, I always want to push myself as an artist and I think S.H.I.N.E. is a big example of me pushing myself and trying new things. My fifth album is a reason to celebrate, and a lot of the music I’ve been making is very chill," he said in a March interview with Complex. "I’m singing—and I’m not singing to be the next Brian McKnight—I’m singing to enhance my songwriting ability and to evolve as an artist.” He'll also be producing Self Made Vol. 4 with the rest of the MMG crew, and is looking to drop another solo album before the end of the year.

S.H.I.N.E. will be his first project since 2015's The Album About Nothing. That project spawned singles like "The Girls On Drugs," and "The Matrimony" f/ Usher. It was also responsible for birthing the classic Wale x Jerry Seinfeld Complex cover, which you can check out, here. Since then, Wale has been busy appearing at the White House for the State of the Union address, getting into tiffs with his labelmate Meek Mill, and getting more heavily involved in the world of professional wrestling.
