Taking the lessons learned from his passion for Jamaican soundsystem culture, London's Itoa transposes them into a footwork. What does that sound like? Cataclysmic percussion, gut-punching bass and choppy, breakneck sampling. An astute balance of ultra-heavy 808s and the rest of the track's sparse arrangement keeps the track devastatingly simple, before ultimately erupting into a maelstrom of dizzying jungle breaks. The full Persuasive Percussion EP (due June 10 via Bad Taste Records) may only be three tracks long, but as "B 2The B" demonstrates, Itoa only needs a sliver of an opportunity to blow our tiny minds.
