Justin Timberlake is plotting a collaboration with The Weeknd. Timberlake confirmed the news in an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtrasaying, "Abel and I have been talking about doing a collab soon…maybe for his," and added The Weeknd is "working on an album right now."

If you remember, The Weeknd dropped out of Rihanna's ANTI World Tour citing "upcoming projects" as his reason. He also recently confirmed he is back in the studio with two of the producers he worked with on House of Balloons.

Timberlake also revealed he has been in the studio with two of his biggest previous collaborators, Pharrell and Timbaland. Pharrell co-wrote and produced almost every track on Timberlake's 2002 debut solo album, Justified, while Timberlake made a guest appearance on Pharrell's 2014 release, G I R L. Timberlake and Timbaland famously have an extensive history together including collaborations on JustifiedFutureSex/LoveSounds, and The 20/20 Experience. "I don't know exactly what it's going to be yet because we just really started. But, I like it a lot." Timberlake didn't reveal much else, but he did clarify these collaborations have nothing to do with the Trolls soundtrack.

Timberlake's new single, "Can't Stop The Feeling," is part of the soundtrack to the new animated film, Trolls, that which he is executive producing. He also voices one of the film's main characters. Interestingly enough, he explained that his work on the film is what reignited his desire to get back to work. Watch the full interview above.
