Raised in Lagos but based in London, Bimbi Philips is making some serious moves towards establishing himself, and his take on Afrobeats, in the UK. His introductory single "It's Bimbi" supposedly takes its influences from the wild creativity of Fela Kuti and "the candidness of Kanye West" and you can definitely hear that in the fast-paced low end and foot-stomping beats of the original. Stepping in for remix duties, TS7 quickens the pace further with a tough and urgent UKG rhythm section, chopping the vocals and spinning it all into an Afro-nodding club banger. Just wait for the choral chants and bouncy bassline!
