Earlier this year, DJ Khaled signed a management deal with Jay Z and Roc Nation, and he was blessed with the last remaining original Roc-A-Fella chain. So when Complex News caught up with Khaled at the Calvin Klein X Urban Outfitters event during SXSW in Austin, Texas this week, we had to ask why this was the right time to work closely with Hov.

"Me and Jay have been friends for a long time and [have] built a relationship throughout the years," Khaled explained. "We always said we [were] gonna do something together besides making amazing music. So, I called Jigga like, 'Let's make history together, let's make big business, let's secure the bag together.'"

"I consider this a partnership," he added. "Two moguls? It's powerful."

Since this is a partnership, then Khaled can probably take some time to teach Jay how to use Snapchat—or just explain what it is—since he seemed to be extremely confused by the concept at the Super Bowl.

Khaled also spoke to Complex News about his upcoming collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, and his big dreams to finally work with Beyoncé and Rihanna. Watch the full interview in the video above.
