With Black History Month well underway in the States and Canada (it's October in the UK), Young Fire, Old Flame duo Wretch 32 and Avelino connect with singer-songwriter Knox Brown for "Redemption Song", a poignantly uplifting reminder of black struggle and accomplishment. The track opens with an emotive verse from Wretch: People died just so that I could become Wretch, my ancestors shedding tears over success. From there, he's followed up in similar fashion by north London compatriot and Complex one-to-watch, Avelino. Rounded off by Knox Brown's old-soul vocals, "Redemption Song" is indeed a necessary and timely record to get into. Check it out after the jump.
