In the music industry, there are a variety of ways a song can blow up and become a hit. Sometimes it happens naturally and other times it's manufactured, but at the end of the day, if it's a hit, it's a hit. For Silentó's massive single "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)," the path to success may have gotten a major boost from Madonna in a not so subtle way. According to a new report from Business Insider, a company called DanceOn, which lists Madonna as a co-founder, was put together to try and create dance hits, including Silentó's anthem.

Basically, the company controls a bunch of digital content and helps influencers in the scene to get exposure through dance videos that feature certain music. In the case of Silentó, the company approached him for permission to make unofficial dance videos for the song, and it soon took off with over 250 million views in only a few months. From there, it led him to the latest dance craze in the country and a deal with Capitol Records. You can read the full breakdown on DanceOn here
