Well this is a new one. Earlier this morning, The Seattle Times published an interview with a random guy who was given Sir-Mix-A-Lot's old phone number by Verizon. That guy, Jonathan Nichols, told the paper that when he switched to a local Seattle number in 2012, he had no idea what was coming.

Nichols said when he first started getting text messages from people asking for Anthony Ray, which is Mix-A-Lot's real name, he had no idea what was going on. Whether it was a car dealership trying to get him to come try out a new whip, or girls sending a bunch of raunchy photos, Nichols just kept telling them they had the wrong number.

It didn't all click for Nichols until Mix-A-Lot's birthday on August 12, when his phone wouldn't stop blowing up. One of the texts apparently hinted to Mix-A-Lot's massive hit "Baby Got Back," which led Nichols to Google to try and finally figure out what was going on. "That’s when it all made sense,” Nichols said.

"Are you serious?" Mix-A-Lot told the Seattle Times. "That is hilarious. Poor fella." As far as any advice for Nichols, Mix-A-Lot said to never check the text messages in front of your wife. To this day, Nichols still has Mix-A-Lot's old phone number and he's using it to his advantage. "When people I meet working political campaigns tell me about meeting Bill Clinton, I always say, ‘I have Sir Mix-A-Lot’s old phone number," Nichols said.

While Nichols is still reaping the benefits of the number, Mix-A-Lot had one message for him: "Tell him any really sexy pictures — little in the middle, and if she’s got much back — give them the new number."
