Premiere: Stephen Is Caught In The "Crossfire"

"How can I enjoy these blessings when I know others can't?"

"How can I enjoy these blessings when I know others can't?" Stephen asked of himself when he introduced his new single "Crossfire" to us. Opening with what sounds like looped sobs, Stephen's "Crossfire" remains subdued for the most part but an uplifting refrain gives the track an almost anthemic edge. The track, which we're told is deeply personal to the young singer-songwriter, laments the constant global tragedies and the effect they have on his own emotional wellbeing, as well as his outlook on the world. "There are people out there who are suffering and there's very little they can do about it," he explains. "Sometimes I feel guilty when I'm happy because I know that these people are hurting. How can I be happy when I know that people are being forced to live in refugee camps and ghettos, while women are being sex trafficked and millions of innocent people are suffering? So as I sit here and look at my life, I feel grateful, but I also feel confused."
