After meeting in a study group at a sound engineering college in Paris, Basic Tape (Ben and Sav to their mums) drew their influences from the legendary Parisian electronic music scene and quickly set about sculpting their own sound. That sound, one which has already earned praise from ODESZA, combines '70s disco, house and soulful pop melodies. Their new single, "Not Afraid", is an ideal entry point for the duo, spearheaded by an anthemic refrain and a deeply uplifting piano riff. We don't think anyone would be shocked if these two started making some serious headway in the charts in the near future.
