NOREMIXES, the label run by Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey co-founder Starkey, will be releasing the new four-track EP from Beck-Fields tomorrow. When Complex spoke to Starkey last year, he explained he wanted NOREMIXES to be about "synth music, modern classical, electro-acoustic and ambient crossroads." Generally, the releases coming out of the label won't be aimed at the dancefloor, instead focusing on craft and experimentation. The Beck-Fields EP, Hone, is the follow-up to Sophia from earlier in the year (also on NOREMIXES) and continues the exploration of softly-sung vocals and gentle synth washes against frenetic, but sparingly used, IDM beats for a mesmeric listen.
Premiere: Experimental Duo Beck-Fields Share The Subtle Power Of "Sun Under Sea"
A delicate but robust effort from the two musicians.
