Janet Jackson Postpones Tour Dates Due to "Doctor's Orders"

The impacted dates, thus far, have not been rescheduled.

Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable World Tour just suffered its second setback in a week, with the legendary singer announcing on Friday evening that this weekend’s stops in Salt Lake City and Denver would be postponed due to "doctor’s orders" to initiate vocal rest. Rescheduled dates haven’t been announced.

Earlier this week, a third party contributed to the suspension and, in some cases, content removal of several fans’ Instagram accounts after footage of several Unbreakable World Tour stops started to circulate. After the predictable controversy ensued because it's the year 2015 and people generally expect to be able to use Instagram as they see fit, Janet’s team released a statement assuring fans they would quickly "change their approach and allow [users] to engage socially with these videos," which kind of sounds like someone doesn’t understand how Instagram works. "My team is passionate about protecting the intellectual property we are creating for the tour and possible future projects," Janet said in a statement to Rolling Stone. "It was never their intention, acting on my behalf, to have social media accounts removed."

The tour is expected to resume as scheduled this coming Tuesday in Kansas City.
