It's been a minute since we've had any newness from Hudson Mohawke but he's back with the hypnotizing new video for "System," one of Lantern's many highlights. The video is the second in a series of Warp projects commissioned by Channel 4, and sees HudMo team up with Dominic Flannigan and Nic Hamilton for a video that pays homage to the great Jeff Mills whilst keeping its gaze fixed well and truly on the future. Classic arpeggio sounds shimmer and sparkle, only to make way for a thunderous techno beat, inspired in no small part by Jeff Mills, all the while a kaleidoscopic cityscape unfolds on the screen.

According to Flannigan, the track's Mills-inspired sound played the largest role in the video's inception: "When considering an associated film, I thought of classic rave visuals and cg stock art of the late '90s where the grid of the city would be superimposed with circuit boards and processors. Here we updated it for 2015, commissioning our own 4K helicopter shoot over Manhattan which Nic Hamilton treated, placing in a CG environment that evokes Philip Glass' 1000 Airplanes On The Roof." The video, like the track, is blisteringly high quality and a real visual treat.
