This year saw one of the most harrowing crises in recent memory as millions of refugees were displaced from their homes as a result of conflict in the Middle East. In particular, an astonishing number of Syrian refugees were displaced from their homes in chaotic and distressing scenes that many of us can't shake from our minds. However, what this has also led to is an encouraging number of people well and truly stepping up. With winter on its way, the crisis is becoming all the more critical.

#GrimeAid, taking place at The Nest in London on October 19, and hosted by Beats 1's Julie Adenuga, is the latest of these acts of solidarity. On top of being in aid of an extremely good cause, the one-off event has one hell of a line-up. So far, the line-up features Chip, Youngs Teflon, Logan Sama and Jevon, with more acts yet to be announced.

Journalist Ra'ed Khan, who'll be traveling to Serbia this month to provide aid to the refugees, says: "The situation there is getting worse daily, especially with the winter ahead. The money this event will raise will make countless lives, desperate for basic necessities, a tad bit easier. It's an honour to be a part of such a great cause."

Tickets for the event are on sale now for a mere £5. All profits from the event will be used for the purchase of food and hygiene items that will be delivered by volunteers to the refugees at the end of the month.
