Big K.R.I.T. Talks Honoring Scarface At The 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards

While at the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards, we caught up with Big K.R.I.T. to talk about Scarface, the Cyphers, and what he's working on next.

While backstage at this year's BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, we caught up with Big K.R.I.T. When asked what his favorite part of the evenings events was, the Mississippi rapper was quick to shine a light on Scarface. Hailing from Houston, Texas, the legendary emcee was honored with the award show's annual "I Am Hip Hop" accolade.

K.R.I.T. spoke about watching Face get the award stating, "To be able to sit there in the front and be such a fan and see him get honored, it's overwhelming. I never would've thought I'd experience something like that." Always one to champion the south, K.R.I.T. continued, "He made it cool to be southern. All that he put into his lyricism, how organic it was, how gritty it was. And he rapped about where he was from, and that inspired me as a southern artist to rap about where I was from with confidence."

K.R.I.T. who is getting ready to embark on his Kritically Acclaimed Tour, also hinted at a new project dropping soon in addition to highlighting his favorite cyphers from the Hip Hop Awards.
