Fresh off news that Billie Holiday will get the hologram treatment at the Apollo Theater later this yearWhitney Houston's estate announced plans today to collaborate with the same company to "bring back" the late singer next year. According to BillboardPat Houston, the President of the Whitney Houston Estate, has given the green-light to Alki David and Hologram USA to create a hologram of the "I Will Always Love You" singer to be debuted at "a major U.S. venue."

"It's a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one [of] the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come," Pat Houston, Whitney's sister, said. "I look forward to the partnership." As Billboard points out, Pat was less than enthused about the prospect of a hologram projection of her sister less than a year ago. "I don't know how I would feel about [a hologram] and certainly I've been approached [about it]," she said in 2014. "I said, 'No.' But who knows what the future holds." The planned Whitney Houston hologram will tour the country after next year's debut.

Alki David's Hologram USA was also behind Chief Keef's recent short-lived hologram and is working up the Billie Holiday hologram show at the Apollo later this year.
