Lee "Scratch" Perry Mix For Clash

At just over 20 minutes, Lee "Scratch" Perry's mix for Clash is brief to say the least. Still, it's not often we're treated to a reggae masterclass by someone who, in no uncertain terms, changed the face of music and how it's created all over the world. There have been countless think-pieces and essays written about Perry's musical legacy and influence on all sorts of genres, such as hip-hop, dub, dancehall, drum & bass, jungle, post-punk and the rest, so we won't bore you with that history lesson again. Instead, tuck in to some of the finest reggae Perry's musical vaults have to offer.

Tiefschwarz's Mix For THUMP

It's hard to believe Tiefschwarz have been in the game for three decades now-their selections and sounds are as forward-thinking, energetic and progressive as anything coming from the vanguard of tech-house. Having released their new album at the beginning of June, the Schwarz brothers are back with a hypnotic and engrossing mix you can't help but nod your head to.

GoldFFinch's Mix For When We Dip

Having returned to Tiga's Turbo Recordings for their latest release (an EP featuring remixes from Sunju Hargun and Fur Coat due out on Monday), Belgian duo GoldFFinch serve up a hypnotic, uplifting, mesmerising and utterly immersive mix of house and techno. It's deftly balanced and the gradual builds and drops feel as if they've been sculpted with the utmost care and attention to detail. It's pretty amazing to think this was put together in a studio since it seems so reactive, so perfectly suited to a live setting. There doesn't seem to be a tracklist but keen ears will notice Marcus WorgullDVS1 and Roman Lindau along with some of the latest GoldFFinch productions all being brought into the mix.

DJ Marky's Mix For Mixmag

Brazilian D&B god DJ Marky needs little introduction. He's been tearing up raves all over the globe for 15 years now and his energy shows no signs of slowing, especially since he's only just released his debut solo album (look out for "Getaway", one of the album's main highlights, in the mix). If you've ever seen Marky live, then you'll know exactly what to expect: fire.

Tripletrain's Mix For Boiler Room

Operating at the jazzier end of the juke and footwork spectrum, Teklife's Tripletrain aren't just consistent—they're utterly unique. The duo do stick to the footwork framework throughout but around that they hang jazz, turntablism, classic hip-hop, analog sounds and unidentifiable samples. Though the drums are obviously as skittish and frenetic as ever, it's the mix of more organic sounds with chopped-up classic hip-hop sounds that make this a mix to remember.

Greazus' Mix For Shambhala Festival

Greazus, the creative lovechild of HxdB and DJ Cure, have a pretty unique sound. There aren't many people who would've thought of finding the sweet spot between grime and footwork, but Greazus did and they've quite frankly nailed it. It's a sound they've been pouring into their own releases, and this mix for Shambhala Festival is a perfect distillation of their influences and sound. They've balanced classics from both genres including a Wiley remix, "Pulse 8" and more than a couple of Chi-town smashers. But more than that, anyone who can mix Spooky's remix of Doctor Jeep's "Ghosty Dance" into a footwork banger like Distal's "Icy 92" gets our vote for days.

Low Steppa's '10 Tracks With...' Mix For Ryan Dornan

Another no-nonsense mix from Will "Low Steppa" Bailey. It really doesn't need much explanation. Ryan Dornan asked him to mix together ten of his current favourites ahead of Bailey's appearance at Stere Sessions in Belfast this weekend and that's precisely what he did. It's predominantly filled with his own productions but in between that, he peppers in tracks from Route 94, Hardrive, and more—though not before remixing them first.

Mighty Mark's Mix For Electric Llama

Just know there's a really good reason they call him Mighty Mark. Seriously, bringing in the B'more legend for the first edition of their mix series was an incredibly strong move by Electric Llama. And yes, it features the KW Griff & Porkchop classic "Bring In The Katz", among so many, many others.

Throwing Shade's Mix For FADER

Here NTS regular Throwing Shade puts together a mix consisting almost entirely of her own productions, save for her remix of Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" at the start. The sheer range of sounds and styles on offer here only serves to make us love her even more. It also proves that the young producer has got more than her money's worth from her time studying ethnomusicology at university, and that's saying something considering how much tuition fees are these days—the Government, amirite?
