A little over a year ago, Teklife crew member Taso unleashed Teklife Till Tha Next Life Vol. 1, a massive, hip-hop-infused trek through the footwork sound that the Teklife squad specializes in. With heralded members like the late DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, and DJ Manny collaborating on the entire project, this highlighted just how beautiful that blurry line between hip-hop music and the footwork aesthetic can be (which we most recently saw it in Mic Terror's Teklife/Treated project, Live From Your Momma's House).

Want an idea of how perfect these sounds blend together? Peep what Taso, Rashad, and Spinn did to Camp Lo's classic, "Luchini (This Is It)."

For his next trick, San Francisco representer Taso is back at it with the same cast of characters for Teklife Till Tha Next Life Vol. 2, further showcasing why this ~160BPM sound is not just a movement, but the future. You've got odes to Jordans like "My Jz On," which borrows from "Funky Worm," to classic Teklife DJ set staples like the Rashad x Spinn x Manny x Taso "Consequences," which is followed up perfectly with a VIP of Raekwon's bonafide classic "Ice Cream." We see sample sources from anthems by Styles PIce Cube, and others being twisted, as well as some pure, turnt party bangers that showcase just how easy it is to blend the world of electronic music with a pure hip-hop mentality.

You can stream the first track "Acid" down below, and grab the full project via Bandcamp today, and bear in mind that Hyperdub is dropping an EP of DJ Rashad tracks, 6613 that features all of these players (as well as Gant-Man) on June 29.
