L.A. hip-hop duo People Under the Stairs announced the release of their 10th full-length album, The Gettin’ Off Stage, Friday night at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Thes One and Double K have been on a consistent independent grind since the late 1990s after releasing their first album, The Next Step. Aptly named The Gettin’ Off Stage, People Under the Stairs said that they recognize the fact that they’ve “reached the getting off stage” in their career, but have no plans on getting off the stage any time soon.

The announcement came while most of NYC’s music crowd was packed neatly into Randall’s Island for Drake's set. “Drake texted me that he was sad he’d miss our set,” Thes One said while trying catch his breath after a dance break.

He then later appropriately chugged a beer on stage during his song “Beer” and ragged on some kids smoking at the front of the stage. The P was joined by special guest Greg Nice, of the legendary ’80s hip-hop duo Nice and Smooth, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years,” Nice said, taking a moment of silence. “I love true hip-hop, and these brothers are true.” Nice will also be featured on the new album.
