We're fast approach peak Jamie xx fever with a new album on the way in the form of In Colour, and now that he's just released the video for first single "Loud Places", the hype is only just getting started. It's a refreshingly simple video that matches the track perfectly with Jamie and his xx bandmate Romy skating through the streets of London.

As Jamie himself explains: "We grew up skateboarding together [and] when I was thinking of what the video for 'Loud Places' should be, I kept coming back to the idea of Romy and I skating in London, visiting the places we used to go to. It's a part of our friendship not many people really know about and it's something I wanted to share."

That simplicity is juxtaposed against what must be one of his most densely packed productions. A far cry from the bass-heavy minimalism he made his name with, "Loud Places" features a euphoric refrain and tribal percussion and more colour than we've ever seen before. Watch the video above before In Colour is released on June 1 via Young Turks. (We can reportedly look forward to features from Popcaan, Young Thug, Four Tet and xx members Romy and Oliver).
